RingCentral Telephone Index
What is RingCentral?
RingCentral is Butler's cloud-based telephone application. Butler users with an assigned telephone number can make and receive calls, send and receive SMS text messages, and send and receive faxes via computer, mobile device, or the web. (Note that some general-use workstations with multiple users will continue to utilize a physical phone handset rather than the app.)
Note: Butler is using the MVP offering from RingCentral.

Faxing
Fax messages sent to departmental fax numbers will be delivered to a shared email inbox (as designated by the department) and distributed accordingly.
Text Mesages
Text messaging (SMS) is available in RingCentral upon request. Please read the Text Message Guidelines article linked below, and then submit a case for Information Technology for enablement of the text messaging feature.
Call Queues
Call Queues are used when you want a group of users to share incoming calls routed to the next available member of the group. Call Queues are primarily used for departmental main lines. A Call Queue can support up to 25 calls waiting.
Some Call Queues also have an IVR (interactive voice response) which provides different flows for open and closed schedules. What is an "IVR"? (RingCentral)
