How do I enroll in Guardian app from auth0 (2FA)?

Guardian Device Requirements:

Your primary mobile device (smartphone or tablet) must be capable of running the free Auth0 Guardian App.
 

How to Install the Auth0 Guardian App:

Note: you will need access to a computer in order to enroll in Guardian.

1. If you previously enrolled in Butler two-factor authentication, first reset your 2fa by going to 2fa.butler.edu. Log in, verify your identity using Email or Text, and then reset your 2fa. Note: the alternate email and cell phone are pulled from password.butler.edu. If you need to update your alternate email or cell phone number, you can do that by going to password.butler.edu and clicking Update Profile). 
2. On your smartphone: install the Guardian app on your OWN (not your parent or friend's) primary mobile device (smartphone or tablet - you can only install the app on one device, so you will want to choose the device you access most often). Install the Guardian app from your app store by searching for "Auth0 Guardian:

3. On a computer: open a web browser and go to my.butler.edu or office.com (note: alumni should go to office.com, as they do not have access to my.butler.edu). If prompted, on the login screen with the bulldog, enter your full Butler email address and password, then click Log In. (If you have signed in previously, you will need to clear your web browser history/cache or use a new private (incognito) window - Issues with websites: clear cache, use an incognito/private window, try another browser). 
4. Choose the option that says " Auth0 Guardian app." Please note: you can only choose one option.

5. On the Secure Your Account screen with links to the app stores, click Continue. 
6. You will see a Secure Your Account screen with a QR code.
7. Open the Guardian app on your mobile device. Click the + sign, then scan the QR code on your computer screen with the camera of your mobile device. 
8. On your mobile device, you will see a butleru connection added to your Guardian app.
9. On your computer screen, you will see a 24-digit alphanumeric recovery code. Treat this recovery code as you would a password. It is important that you record this recovery code and keep it in a safe place. Suggested: take a photo of the code, and then transfer the code to a safe place that you can access without your mobile device (examples: cloud storage folder, password management app, personal non-Butler email account). In the event that you lose your device or get a new device, or in the event you don't have your device with you, this recovery code will allow you to access your account. 
10. Once you have captured and recorded the recovery code, check the box that says "I have safely recorded this code;" then, click Continue. 
11. You are now enrolled in Guardian.
