Resolution Description

Faculty/Staff

Faculty/staff members that suspect they have a virus or malware on a Butler-owned computer need to contact the IT Help Desk. The Help Desk will determine appropriate next steps for mitigation. 

Faculty/staff members that suspect they have a virus or malware on a personally owned computer can contact the IT Help Desk for friendly advice. The Help Desk does not remediate malware on faculty/staff personally owned devices.

Students

Students who suspect they have a virus or malware on a personally owned computer can contact the IT Help Desk. The Help Desk will determine appropriate next steps for mitigation. If the operating system needs to be reinstalled (computer rebuild), the Help Desk can assist.
