Resolution Description


QUICK START FOR NEW/ADMITTED STUDENTS

  1. Password: Set/change your password at password.butler.edu right away. Please note you will not be able to access any Butler systems until you change your password and set-up two-factor authentication. You will receive your Butler email address and ID number via email from the Office of Admission within 10 business days of being admitted. Detailed instructions can be found here.
  2. Two-Factor Authentication - Enroll in two-factor authentication by following the instructions here. Two-factor authentication provides a second layer of security to numerous applications. 
  3. Email: Check your Butler email at office.com, and if you'd like, set up your Butler email on your mobile device (iPhone or iPad or Android). 
  4. My.Butler: Login to my.butler.edu and take a look around. This is where you'll find your class schedule, financial aid information, and more. 
  5. Canvas: Visit canvas.butler.edu and take a look around. Canvas is Butler's learning management system. 
  6. OneDrive and Google Drive: Explore Butler's cloud storage options OneDrive and Google Drive
  7. Microsoft Office and Google Apps: Use Microsoft Office and/or Google Apps. Free Microsoft Office: How do I get Microsoft 365 for free?
  8. Prepare Your Tech: Trying to decide what you should bring to campus, and what you should leave at home? Look over some key information to help you Prepare Your Technology for Move-in (Students).
  9. XFINITY On Campus (replaces cable tv): streaming service free to Butler students that live on campus. Visit XFINITY On Campus.
  10. Printing: Learn more about our PrintSmart program for students.
  11. Wireless and Ethernet: When you arrive on campus, ready your devices and Get Connected (Devices to Wireless).
  12. Knowledge Base: Check out our knowledge base (this is ask.butler.edu) for answers to common questions and computer issues at ask.butler.edu. You can also request assistance via an online case or chat with a technician (if one is available).
  13. Butler App: Be sure to install the Butler App on your smartphone. The app will keep you up to date on what's happening at Butler. For a video tour of the app, click here.
