Technology Information for New Students

Account Setup

• Password: Set/change your password at password.butler.edu right away. Please note you will not be able to access any Butler systems until you change your password and set-up two-factor authentication. You will receive your Butler email address in an email from the Office of Admission within 10 business days of being admitted. Detailed instructions can be found here.
• Two-Factor Authentication: Enroll in two-factor authentication by following the instructions here. Two-factor authentication provides a second layer of security to numerous applications. 

Email and Other Software/Apps

• Email: Check your Butler email at office.com, and if you'd like, set up your Butler email on your mobile device (iPhone or iPad or Android). 
• Free Microsoft 365: How do I get Microsoft 365 for free?
• My.Butler: Login to my.butler.edu and take a look around. This is where you'll find your class schedule, financial aid information, and more.
• Canvas: Canvas is Butler's learning management system. For more info, go to Canvas Help Index (Students).
• Butler App: Be sure to install the Butler App on your smartphone. The app will keep you up to date on what's happening at Butler.
• Zoom: Use Zoom for video conferencing. 
• Software Discounts: Software discount information is available Software Discounts.

File Storage and Collaboration

• OneDrive and Google Drive: Explore Butler's cloud storage options OneDrive and Google Drive.
