Faculty and Staff:
The following instructions are intended for staff and faculty members using a Butler-owned Mac/PC that have already added the printer or copier to their device (
How to Print from a Butler computer ).
Windows:
Sharp Multifunction Printer:
- On your computer, type "Printers and Scanners" in the search box to the right of the Start menu. Click Printers and Scanners.
- Click on the desired printer or copier, then click Manage.
- To set it as your default printer that all jobs will send to automatically click Set as Default.
- To set defaults for things like single sided or black and white, click Printing Preferences. Make the desired adjustments to the settings.
- If you would like to have only one set of preferences, move on to step 5.
- If you would like to save a group of preferences (for example, envelope printing), click Save (next to Favorites). You can then name the preset accordingly.
- Click Apply and then Ok.
Kyocera:
- On your computer, type "Printers and Scanners" in the search box to the right of the Start menu. Click Printers and Scanners.
- Click on the desired printer or copier, then click Manage.
- To set it as your default printer that all jobs will send to automatically click Set as Default.
- To set defaults for things like single sided or black and white, click Printing Preferences. Make the desired adjustments to the settings.
- If you would like to have only one set of preferences, click Ok.
- If you would like to save a group of preferences (for example, envelope printing), click Save as. You can then name the preset accordingly and select an icon; then, click Ok. Click Profiles, select the profile you created, click Apply.
- Click Ok on both menus and now this will be your default profile.
Mac:
- Once in the print menu of your chosen application you may need to click Show Details.
- When printing from a browser you will need to select "Open PDF in preview" to access the full range of printing options.
- Open a file you wish to have your default settings applied to.
- Go to the "Print" dialogue box and make sure the copier or printer you wish to make the preset for is selected.
- Make the adjustments to the settings.
- From the "Presets" drop down select Save Current Settings as a Preset.
- Name the setting and choose whether you want it to affect only this printing or all your printers.
