How do I change the course name on the Canvas Dashboard and at the top of my Canvas course? (Instructors)

There are two fields where you can update your course name information. The course Name appears on the Dashboard tile and in your Courses list in the global navigation. The Course Code appears at the top of all pages and resources once you are inside your Canvas course; you will see this code in the breadcrumb trail at the top left of your course.

• Update the course name after cross-listing multiple sections into one course (see How do I cross-list (umbrella) two or more sections in Canvas?)
• Add section information to the course code

Changing the Course Name or Course Code

1. In your course, select Settings.
2. Select Course Details. 
3. Edit the Name or Course Code fields.
4. Select Update Course Details.
