Overview and Eligibility
Canva is a web-based graphic design platform. Marketing and Communications provides a Canva Butler Pro account option for faculty and staff. This account includes all the premium features of Canva Pro, along with a suite of Butler-branded templates, fonts, colors, graphics, logos, and photos.
Membership to Canva Butler is $180 per year, and IT oversees license invoicing. Note: Only named (per user) licenses are permitted. Shared email account addresses cannot have Canva licenses applied.
Information for Current Canva Subscribers Switching to the Canva Butler Pro Account:
- Any remaining months on your current Pro subscription will be credited to your original payment method. To request this refund, please go to the Payments, Pricing, and Billing category on the Canva website.
- You will not lose any files if you become a member of Canva Butler. This new account will be listed as a Team under the circle user icon in the top right corner of Canva. If you choose to transfer files into your view of Canva Butler, use this video for step-by-step directions.
Information for New Canva Subscribers:
- Membership to the Canva Butler Pro account is $180 per year (licensing handled by IT).
- To request a Canva licensing, click Create New Case on this page and submit a case for Information Technology. Include your department 41-digit budget code. Example below.
- Account access within a few days of case submission.

Once your license has been provisioned, follow these steps to log in:
If you're an existing Canva users with free or paid Pro accounts associated with your Butler email:
- Click your profile icon in the top right corner
- Click Sign out
- You will be presented with a screen with the options of "Continue" or "Continue with another account"
- Click "Continue with another account"
- Enter your Butler email address.
- You will be redirected to the Microsoft login (access is granted through Microsoft for Butler accounts)
- Enter your Butler email address
- You will be redirected to the standard Butler authentication screen (Auth0)
- Enter your Butler credentials
- Verify your identity (2fa)
If you're new to Canva, follow these steps:
- Go to www.canva.com
- Click "Log In." in the top-right corner
- Click "Continue with email"
- Enter your Butler email address.
- You will be redirected to the Microsoft login (access is granted through Microsoft for Butler accounts)
- Enter your Butler email address
- You will be redirected to the standard Butler authentication screen (Auth0)
- Enter your Butler credentials
- Verify your identity (2fa)
