Auto-forwarding of user account mailbox emails has been disabled due to security protocol changes.
-
Creating inbox rules to forward, forward as attachments, and redirect messages to an external email address have been blocked.
-
The “Forwarding” options page has been removed from Outlook Web Access (and “New” Outlook).
-
Inbox rules that forward to Butler email addresses have not been affected.
Why Was Auto-Forwarding of Email Disabled:
-
User mailboxes can be compromised and used to send mass emails to gain access to personal information, spread infections, or compromise other accounts.
-
Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, and others may delay emails originating from organizations that send large quantities of emails.
-
Auto-forwarding allows for any email to be sent from Butler to any email system without being monitored resulting in a HUGE amount of unsolicited email being sent to email providers.
-
Butler provides access to mailboxes in various ways including online web access (OWA), Outlook desktop application, mobile mail clients including Outlook Mobile App, and mail applications preinstalled on mobile devices.
