Why doesn't the Remember Me for 30 Days work?
The Remember Me for 30 Days checkbox is specific to the device and the web browser. Users who check the Remember Me for 30 Days box will only need to use 2fa once every 30 days, for that web service (e.g., my.butler.edu), per device and per browser.
Exception: Instructor stations that have Deep Freeze on them (PB 150/156). These devices provide the user a new profile each time they log in.
Examples of when Remember Me for 30 Days Won't Work:
- If I access my.butler.edu using Google Chrome on my Butler computer and I check the box for Remember Me for 30 Days, I will not need to use 2fa again for my.butler on my Butler computer using Google Chrome. However, if I access my.butler on my Butler computer using Mozilla Firefox, I would then have to authenticate with 2fa before accessing the site.
- If I use a Private or Incognito page on my web browser, the Remember Me for 30 Days option does not apply.
- If I access my. butler.edu on a device and/or browser I have never used before, the Remember Me for 30 Days does not apply.
Additional Information:
- This feature is not supported when using Private or Incognito mode in a web browser.
- This feature is not supported when using mobile device web browsers. Users will typically see a "you must enable cookies" message when trying to check the Remember Me Box.
