Resolution Description

Apply Changes

A common mistake when editing Panopto recordings is to forget to apply new changes. Follow these steps to verify all changes have been applied:
  1. Navigate to your Panopto recording.
  2. Select Edit to enter the Panopto editor.
  3. Select Apply in the upper right of the screen.
  4. Rewatch the video to check for missing captions or TOC entries.

Change Timestamps

If a caption or TOC entry is located in a trimmed (edited out) portion of the recording, it will not display in the published recording.
  1. Locate a missing caption or TOC entry. In the left-hand panel, click once on the missing item to move the red playhead to that location in the timeline.
  2. Verify that the missing caption or TOC entry is located in a trimmed area of the recording. Any trimmed areas will appear grey on the timeline.
  1. In the Captions or Table of Contents panel, hover over the missing item, select the three dot menu, and select Edit.
  2. When the edit window opens, type in a new value in the Time field and select Save.
Note: Round up the time value to the nearest whole second in the untrimmed area. Using decimal values like "0:00:58.20" may still result in the caption or TOC entry being trimmed; in this example, the time value should be rounded to "0:00:59".
  1. Select Apply in the upper right of the screen.
