Sometimes Panopto does not successfully authenticate a user in the desktop application. When this happens, it will appear as if the user is signed into the Panopto client, but they will be unable to upload their recording from the Manage Recordings tab. Users may also be signed out when trying to browse their offline recordings.
Panopto has informed us that this will be fixed in a later release. The current workaround provided by Panopto is as follows:
- Navigate to panopto.butler.edu in your web browser.
- Open the Panopto desktop client and sign in as you normally would.
- Sign out of the desktop client.
- Sign out of Panopto from your web browser.
- Sign back in on your web browser
- Use the Create button in the top-left of the Panopto site. Select the first option (Panopto for Windows)
- If you see a pop-up, choose the option to Open Panopto Recorder
- You should now be signed in on the desktop client with access to all the folders
