Team:

Create a new Team when a new use case arises.

  • Project team (ex - Development of a new product)
  • Event planning (ex - Industry conference)
  • Vendor management (ex - relationship between your organization and external vendor)
  • Classroom (teaching and learning)

Channel (standard or private):

A subdivision of a Team, which can be standard (everyone in the Team can view it) or private (limited to specific Team members; communication boundary meant to sub-divide what the Team is doing into organized segments. Each Team has a General Channel to begin with. Each Channel has its own chat, files, and notes.

For example, on an event planning team, there may be a Channel for Contracts.
