Students who leave Butler (transfer or discontinue taking classes) should be aware that their accounts will be deleted the first week of the month following the student being withdrawn. (Example: Joe B. Student withdraws the last week of the month, the account would be deleted the first week of the following month)
IT recommends doing the following when you leave Butler to prevent data loss:
- Butler Email: forward or move any needed emails to another email account. Disassociate your Butler email from any personal sites (Amazon Prime, bank, etc.).
- OneDrive: copy your data from Microsoft OneDrive to another storage solution (e.g., cloud storage, external hard drive, etc.).
- Microsoft Teams: If you are the ONLY owner of any MS Teams then you should designate another owner. You should also download any of your files.
- Google Apps: copy your data from your Butler Google Apps account to another storage solution (e.g., cloud storage, external hard drive, etc.).
- YouTube: YouTube uses the Google apps login. If you posted videos to YouTube using your Butler Google Apps account, you will need to download those videos to move to another storage option.
- My.Butler and Canvas: get any data that you need from My.Butler.edu and Canvas.
- Panopto: download your Panopto videos and relocate them, especially if you use these videos on external websites such as ePortfolio.
- Adobe Creative Cloud: migrate Adobe Creative Cloud assets to free Creative Cloud membership accounts.
- DawgAlert: deactivate DawgAlert notifications from your mobile number (if you had set up text messages/phone calls).
