Panopto uses Smart Search to search across spoken words, text in associated presentation files, on-screen text, and more. You can click on a search result to fast-forward to that location in the Panopto video. Panopto uses Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) to search spoken words and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to search words on screen.
Smart Search typically takes two times the recording time to index all search words. OCR is a relatively fast process, but ASR can take up to two days.
