Panopto videos added to a Canvas assignment will show a "Play again" screen (similar to the one pictured below) after the video plays through. This screen will appear
before quizzes that are embedded at the last second of the video. Use one of the methods below to ensure users see the quiz.
Option 1: Move the Quiz Forward
- Select Panopto Recordings in your course navigation.
- Hover over the video and select Edit.
- Locate the Quiz in the Contents list on the left. Click once on the quiz. The quiz will load window above the timeline.
- In the Quiz Position field, change the time to one second prior. For example, if the quiz is currently at 0:08:46.23, change the time to 0:08:45.00. (Note that the time must be in the h:mm:ss.ss format.)
- Select Finish in the quiz window.
- Select Apply at the top of the Panopto Editor window.
- After the video re-processes, navigate to the Canvas assignment with the video. Watch the last few seconds to ensure the quiz appears before the "Play again" screen.
Option 2: Direct Students to Click "Play Again"
When a quiz is located at the end of a Panopto video, if students click "Play again" they will see the quiz before the video replays. Instead of moving the quiz, you may prefer to provide instructions to your students to click "Play again."
- Navigate to the Canvas Assignment with the embedded Panopto quiz.
- Select Edit Assignment.
- Enter your instructions in the text box (sample text below). This will appear above the video on the published assignment.
- There is a quiz at the end of this video. If before you see the quiz you see a screen that prompts you to rewatch the video, press "Play again" to access the quiz.
- Select Save.
