Resolution Description | Resetting folder permissions for Windows:
- Go to http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html and download putty.exe located at the top of the download area.
- Launch Putty and enter thomas.butler.edu in the Host Name field. Use the default port 22.
- Click Open, and then log in with your username and password (text will not appear while entering your password).
- Type fix_account and then hit enter to recreate it.
- If the issue persists, please contact the IT Help Desk.
Resetting folder permissions for Mac OS X:
- Click on the Spotlight search (magnifying glass) in the top right corner of the desktop
- Search for Terminal and open it.
- Type ssh username@thomas.butler.edu, where username is your username. Press "return" on the keyboard.
- Type your Butler password (this will not show you typing), and then press "return" on the keyboard.
- Type fix_account and then hit enter to recreate it.
