Users are able to access OneDrive in three ways: via computer, online via the web, or via an app installed on a mobile device (such as a smartphone or tablet).
Method 1 - Via Computer
Windows 10/11
Prerequisite: OneDrive application for Windows installed. OneDrive is installed on Windows 11 by default. If you are using Windows 10, click here for instructions on how to install and sign in to OneDrive.
- Click the Windows logo in the taskbar (usually along the bottom of your screen)
- Type File Explorer
- Double-click File Explorer to open
- In the left pane, double-click OneDrive - Butler University
- Your files will be displayed

Apple MacOS
Prerequisite: OneDrive application for Mac installed. If you have not already done so, click here for instructions on how to install the OneDrive application for MacOS.
- Open Finder
- OneDrive should be listed in the Favorites section at the top
- Double-click to view your files
- Optional: to create a desktop alias for Mac OSX, click here for instructions.
Method 2 - Via the Web
Online Web Access - Office.com
- In a web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc...) go to www.office.com
- Sign in using your Butler email address and password
- Click the 9 dot icon over Home on the left side of the screen
- Click OneDrive
- Click My files on the left side of the screen
- Your files will be displayed
