REMINDER: Proctorio will only work in the Google Chrome browser, this does include setting up a quiz/exam.After you have followed the directions enable Proctorio in your course
How to Enable Proctorio in My Course (Instructors) , you will now need to install the Proctorio extension for Chrome. You will only need to do this once per computer you use. When you open your Canvas course, it will automatically search for the extension. Once successfully installed, you will see a shield in your extensions.
If you have enabled Proctorio but not yet installed the extension you will see "
Secure Exam Proctor" still listed in your course navigation.
Once the extension is installed, Secure Exam Proctor disappears from your course navigation. This button NEVER shows for students, it is just for Instructors to use it to install the extension.
Click on "
Secure Exam Proctor" from your course navigation menu.
If you are using Google Chrome, you will see that step one is already complete. Under step 2, click on the link "
http://getproctorio.com" to begin the process.
Under step 2 again, click on the "
click here" button to launch the extension
A window will open showing you the Proctorio extension. Click on the blue "Add to Chrome" button in the top right corner to start the install.
There will then be a pop-up that will ask you to add the extension. Click on "
Add extension" in the bottom right corner to finish the install.
There will then be a pop-up indicating that Proctorio has been added.
If you go back to the tab where you clicked to start the install, you will see that the process is now done.
You can now close all the tabs that opened during the install and return to your course. If you refresh the page, you will notice that the button for Secure Exam Proctor is now longer showing in your course navigation menu indicating that the extension has successfully been installed.
