Resolution Description

Create a Template Document (Optional)

  1. Create a new Google Doc, Sheet, or Slide.
  2. Populate it with any template language, questions, etc.
     

Create a New Google Assignment

  1. Create a new assignment.
  2. On the assignment details page, change the Submission Type to External Tool.
  3. Click Find.
  4. In the new window, select Google Assignments (LTI 1.3).
  5. You may be prompted to link your Google account. Verify your Butler Google account (i.e. your Butler email) is listed and select Link. (Otherwise, select Switch account and link your Butler account.)
  6. In the Google Assignment popup window, select Link again.
  7. If desired, turn on the plagiarism checker by switching the toggle to On. (You have a limit of five assignments with originality reports per class.)
  8. Select Attach to connect a file (like the template created above); your students will receive a copy of the attached file to edit. 
  9. Enter the points possible and the due date.
  10. Add a rubric if desired.
  11. Select Create and the Google Assignments window will close.
  12. In the Configure External Tool window, press Select.
  13. Update the Canvas points possible and due date to match what you entered in Step 9.
  14. Select Save or Save and publish.
