How do I pin a discussion post in Canvas? (Instructors)

Although Canvas does not have a feature to pin discussion posts, instructors may use a workaround to ensure a specific posts appears at the top. 

Turn on "Liking" for Graders

1. Select Discussions from your course navigation.
2. Click on the discussion name.
3. Select Edit.
4. Under the Discussion Options, select Allow Liking.
5. Select Only graders can like and Sort by likes.
6. Select Save.

"Like" a Post

1. Select Discussions from your course navigation.
2. Click on the discussion name.
3. Locate the "Like" (thumbs up) button and click "Like" once.
4. Refresh the page to see the posts reordered.
