Resolution Description

Add the Panopto integration to Teams before completing the steps below.

Default Recordings Folder

  1. In the Panopto app within Teams, select either Personal Meetings or the team name under which you will set up the mapping.

  2. If you have not authenticated Panopto for this team, select Authenticate and follow the login prompts.
  3. By default, a new folder called "Meeting Recordings" will be added under your "My Folder" in Panopto, and all Teams recordings will save to this folder. To change the default folder where recordings are saved, select Edit under the Default Recordings Folder heading.

  4. Click the dropdown with Meeting Recordings listed, select the appropriate folder, and press Save.

Note: Please contact Online Education and Educational Technology (OEET@butler.edu) if you need a new top-level folder created in Panopto. Meeting-Folder Mappings

You can set up rules so meetings with certain names will save to a folder different from the default folder. To set up such a rule:
  1. In the Panopto app within Teams, select either Personal Meetings or the team name under which you will set up the mapping.

  2. If you have not authenticated Panopto for this team, select Authenticate and follow the login prompts.
  3. Under the Meeting-Folders Mapping header, select +Add New Mapping.

  4. Enter in the meeting title, select the appropriate folder where the recordings will be saved, and press Add.

Now that the mapping is created, you can schedule the meeting.
  1. Select the Calendar from the lefthand navigation.
  2. On the new meeting page, type in the meeting name that matches what you entered in #4 above. Add your team to the Add Channel field.

  3. Select Send.
  4. When the meeting starts, select the More Actions (three dots) from the menu bar and select Start Recording


Using Wildcards

When creating a new meeting-folder mapping, you can create wildcards in the meeting name. Wildcards are used to match word or phrase variations.
