Resolution Description

Mathematica is available for on-site machines running Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. A limited number of Home-use licenses are available for machines running Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Click here for a complete list of platforms supported.

 

On-Campus: All Butler Lab and Classrooms Have Mathematica Installed

 

Butler-Owned Device Installations: Employees (Faculty/Staff)

If you wish to install Mathematica on your Butler-owned device, please submit a case to Information Technology (click Create New Case in the upper right of this page) to obtain a license. The license will allow you to use Mathematica on the Butler Network; VPN is required when off-campus.

Wolfram Mathematica for Fac\Staff Macs

Home Use: Employees (off-campus)

Students can order their own home-use Mathematica for Students license to install and use on their personally owned computer.  Please fill out the Home-Use License Request Form.

Needed information:

Select your department. 

Please enter number of machines needed in Note field if more than 1 is needed

Upon submission of request, you will receive automated email from Wolfram confirming the request.  Wolfram Customer Support reviews the request.  Wolfram can take 1 to 3 business days to review the request.  The Butler IT team will receive an approval request from Wolfram, IT will approve the request within 1 business day. After approving, you will receive an automated email from Wolfram Customer Support with information on how to download and install Mathematica on your device.

Required: Register Your License

When you install MathLM, a single-user Mathematica license, or Mathematica for Students, you will need to register your license to receive a password. You'll also need the MathID # that is generated and displayed by the product during the installation process. Tips for locating your MathID number are available here.
