How do I create a transcript from ASR captions for a Panopto recording?

Generate ASR Captions

1. Locate your Panopto video and select Edit.
2. In the Panopto Editor, select Captions from the left-hand menu.
3. Select Import Captions and choose Import Automatic Captions.
4. Once captions are generated, watch the video and edit the captions for spelling and grammar corrections.
5. Select Apply to save changes.

Download Transcript File

1. Locate your Panopto video and select Settings.
2. Select Captions from the left-hand menu.
3. Under the Available Captions, click Default to expand.
4. Select Download File.

Format Transcript File

1. Open the downloaded TXT file.
2. Select all text and copy it.
3. Open a word processor (e.g. Word, Google Docs) and paste the text.
4. Clean up the transcript file as needed.
