TitleHow do I add a watermark on shared content in a Zoom meeting?
Resolution Description
A watermark can be added to shared content from the viewer's perspective (not the host). The watermark will impose the beginning of a viewer's email over the shared screen and the speaker's video. The watermark will not be captured in the Zoom recording.

Why use a watermark?

A watermark can be used as a security measure to protect sensitive content in meetings. When turned on, the watermark does not show up in recordings saved to the Zoom cloud; however, if a participant recorded a Zoom meeting with another capture device, the watermark would appear and identify that participant. Similarly, if a participant took a screen shot (still image) during a Zoom meeting, the watermark would appear in the screen shot identifying the participant. The watermark is used to dissuade participants from sharing information from Zoom meetings.

How to turn on the watermark

Note: Using the watermark feature requires your meeting participants to log into Zoom. Normally participants can join as guests (without logging in); therefore, we recommend prior to the meeting you alert your participants that they will need to log in. Consider sharing the link to How do I sign into Zoom?
  1. When scheduling a meeting, select Require authentication to join from the Security settings.
  2. In the Require authentication to join dropdown, select Authenticated Butler Users Only to restrict the meeting to only Butler users.
  3. In the Meeting Options, select Add watermark that identifies the viewing participant.
