How do I schedule a recurring Zoom meeting in Canvas? (Instructors)
 

Add a Poll 

  1. Navigate to zoom.butler.edu and select Meetings from the menu at the left.
  2. Locate your course meeting and click on the meeting name link.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the meeting details and locate the Poll section.
  4. Select Create.
  5. Select Poll.
  6. Enter a title.
  7. Enter your first question and select:
    1. Single Choice: Poll participants can select only one of the provided answers. Possible answers can be listed all at once or under a drop-down menu.  
    2. Multiple Choice: Poll participants can select multiple of the provided answers. 
    3. Matching: Poll participants can match prompts on the left side with answers on the right side. Order of prompts and answers can be adjusted as needed. Up to 9 prompts can be provided for each question, with the possible matches ranging between 2-9 options. 
    4. Rank Order: Poll participants can rank each item based on the provided scale. Up to 10 items can be provided for each question, with the scale allowing a range of 2-7 options. 
    5. Short Answer:  Poll participants can respond with a short answer response. The minimum and maximum allowed characters for the response can be set. 
    6. Long Answer:  Poll participants can respond with a long answer response. The minimum and maximum allowed characters for the response can be set. 
  8. Enter the possible answer choices.
  9. (Optional) Select Add Question and repeat steps 7-8 for each additional poll question.
  10. (Optional) Click the three-dot button and select Allow participants to answer questions anonymously if you do not want to collect user information in the poll report.
  11. (Optional) Click the three-dot button and select Make a quiz and set correct answers to convert the poll to a quiz.
  12. Select Save.
 

Add an Advanced Poll or Quiz

  1. Navigate to zoom.butler.edu and select Meetings from the menu at the left.
  2. Locate your course meeting and click on the meeting name link.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the meeting details and locate the Poll section.
  4. Select Create.
  5. Select Advanced Polls and Quizzing.
  6. Enter a title.
  7. Enter your first question and select Single Choice (students can select one choice) or Multiple Choice (students can select multiple answers).
  8. Enter the possible answer choices.
  9. (Optional) Select Add Question and repeat steps 7-8 for each additional poll question.
  10. (Optional) Click the three-dot button and select  Allow participants to answer questions anonymously if you do not want to collect user information in the poll report.
  11. Select Save.
