How do I access the alternative formats that Ally provides? (Students)

Students have the option of downloading alternative formats that Ally generates of their course content in Canvas. Students will see download icons next to each file name in their Canvas courses. Once clicked, there will be an option to download several alternative formats. These alternative formats include tagged PDFs, HTML, ePub, electronic braille, audio, and in some cases translated versions of documents. 

 

To access the alternative formats, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to a course in Canvas and locate a piece of content
2. Select the download icon to the right of the file name
3. You will see three options: Preview, Download, and Alternative Formats
4. Click the Alternative Formats option
5. Choose the preferred format and select Download in the bottom right corner
