Resolution Description

Add the YouTube Video through Canvas Studio

In a Module

  1. Click the Add Item button at the top of the module.
  2. Select External Tool.
  3. Select Arc. The My Library window will open.
  4. Select Add at the top right of the My Library window.
  5. Paste the link to your video in the YouTube link field and click Add.
  6. The video will now be listed first in the My Library window. Hover over the video thumbnail and click Select.
  7. (Optional) Turn off student comments on the video by clicking the Comments toggle.
  8. Select Embed.
  9. Scroll down in the Add Item window. Change the name in the Page Name field from "Arc" to something more descriptive.
  10. Select Add Item.

On a Page

  1. Navigate to your desired page and select Edit to enter edit mode.
  2. In the Rich Content Editor (RCE), place your cursor in the position where you want the video inserted. (We recommend adding the video on a new line.)
  3. From the RCE menu, click the blue down arrow for More External Tools.
  4. Select Arc. The My Library window will open.
  5. Select Add at the top right of the My Library window.
  6. Paste the link to your video in the YouTube link field and click Add.
  7. The video will now be listed first in the My Library window. Hover over the video thumbnail and click Select.
  8. (Optional) Turn off student comments on the video by clicking the Comments toggle.
  9. Select Embed.
  10. The video will be added to the page. Select Save to commit changes.
 

View Studio Analytics

Once students have watched the video, the video statistics can be viewed in the Studio My Library
  1. In the global navigation, select Studio.
  2. Click the three line menu next to "My Library" at the top left and select your course.
  3. Locate the video, hover over the video thumbnail, and select View.
  4. Select Insights.
  5. To see the analytics for one student, select a student from the All Viewers list.
