- Malicious software (malware)
- Spyware
- Ransomware
- Viruses
- Trojans
- Worms
- Live attacks
- Script-based attacks
- Data stealing
Antivirus solutions such as SentinelOne and Cortex XDR protect your Butler computer 24/7/365. The agents for these solutions are always scanning your system for threats so there is never a need to scan your computer manually.
If a threat is detected on your Butler computer, the following steps are taken to protect the computer:
- The antivirus agent determines if the threat is malicious or suspicious. If the threat is determined to be malicious, any processes associated with the threat are killed and files associated with the threat are quarantined (the file(s) are moved to sandboxed location so they cannot be run or accessed). If a threat is determined to be suspicious, no action is taken but the threat is reported.
- The Information Technology (IT) team is notified when this occurs and will respond appropriately.
- While you may not be notified by the antivirus agent if it has detected threats or that files have been quarantined, IT team members may reach out to you to notify you and perform any additional steps to help protect your Butler computer and network accounts.
