Cache:
Stores temporary files like images and scripts from websites you visit
- Clearing cache helps load updated content and frees up space.
Cookies and Site Data:
Saves your login info, preferences, and session data.
- Clearing the logs you out of most sites can fix login or display issues.
Browsing History (optional):
Keeps track of websites you’ve visited.
- Clearing it removes that record from Firefox.
Steps to Clear Data in Firefox:
- Open Firefox browser.
- Click the three horizontal lines (hamburger menu) in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- In the left sidebar, click Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section.
- Click Clear Data
- Select Everything from the dropdown menu at the top
- In the pop-up window, check the following:
- Cookies and Site Data
- Cached Web Content
- Site Settings
- Click "Clear" to delete the data.
- (Optional) For clearing specific site data:
- Click Manage Data.
- Find the site, select it, and click Remove Selected.
Note:
- This action will sign you out of most websites.
- It does not delete your saved passwords or bookmarks.
