Assignments
For Assignments, comments made on assignments are plain text. You may paste a link to a Panopto video into the assignment comments field; however, students will need to copy/paste the link into their browser to watch the video. Canvas does have built-in video commenting, but the feature is limited to recording your webcam and not a screen capture. Therefore, for video feedback that includes screen sharing, use Panopto.
To get the link to your Panopto video:
- Navigate to the Panopto video and click Share.
- Either add the student as a Viewer on the video or change the share permissions to Anyone at your organization with the link.
- Select Save Changes.
- Copy the link from the top of the window. You can now paste the link into the assignment feedback.
Note: Because all students are set up as viewers on your course folder, we recommend recording feedback in your Panopto "My Folder" to protect student privacy.
