Can I copy/paste a quiz or exam from Word to Canvas? (Instructors)

Entire quizzes cannot be imported into Canvas from Word, but instructions can copy questions one at a time.

1. In Word, copy a question stem (without answers).
2. In your Canvas quiz, add a new question.
3. In the question stem box, paste the copied text.
4. Highlight the text and click the clear formatting (Tx) button. 
5. In Word, copy the first answer choice if applicable.
6. In Canvas, paste the copied text in the first answer choice field.
7. Highlight the text and click the clear formatting (Tx) button. 
8. Repeat steps for each question stem and answer choice.

Note: Instructors may have use a product called Respondus at prior institutions to import quizzes from Word. Butler does not currently have a university licenses for Respondus. Windows users can register for a 30-day free trial at https://web.respondus.com/support/respondus-single-user/.
