Financial aid, including BU gift aid (e.g. Academic Scholarships, Butler Grant), state & federal gift aid, accepted federal loans and private loans that have been approved and certified by the Office of Financial Aid are itemized and indicated on the E-Bill as
Anticipated Aid. The Anticipated Aid that appears on the E-Bill is included in the calculation for the amount due.
Outside scholarships will only appear as Anticipated Aid on the E-Bill if the funds have been received from the funding source and processed by the Office of Financial Aid.
At the beginning of the fall and spring terms, the Anticipated Aid is scheduled to actually
POST to students’ accounts on the fifth day of class. It's important to review the student account to make sure all Anticipated Aid
posted to the account. Incoming students who accept federal direct loans for the first time must complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling (an online questionnaire) before the funds post to the account. Both can be completed at
studentaid.gov.
Questions regarding financial aid, including loans, can be directed to the Office of Financial Aid at finaid@butler.edu or by phone at 317-940-8200.
